The ToolPRO Brake Piston Wind Back Tool Kit will make any brake pad swap easier, but its specialised features make it essential equipment when servicing more complicated disk brake setups. Open up the kit, and you’ll find two threaded piston compressors and an array of adaptors. For all regular disc brake setups, select the right hand threaded piston compressor; and slide the backing plate over the handle. Now select an adaptor which closely matches the piston in size. Ensure that the adaptor chosen sits flush with the piston. Slip the assembly between the piston and the caliper, sit the backing plate against the caliper and wind the thread until the tool contacts the piston. You may need an adjustable wrench to hold the body steady.
